The Migrants On-line Network http://www.ion.net.nz/ is an online discussion group developed to assist migrants to find or create employment for themselves. This professionally moderated, virtual engagement allows immigrants to use existing skills and networks and develop new ones. The network is a feature of the Innovators On-Line Network and related research developed by Dr Annick Janson and Dr Prue Holmes The research seeks to make sense of how immigrants use the computer to facilitate integration and settlement. Refugee Lifeline
is a joint venture between Refugees as Survivors (RASNZ)
New Zealand Trust and LifeLine Auckland. The new
national service provides language and culturally
appropriate telephone based counselling support to
refugees and their families in Burmese, Farsi, Dari
and Arabic languages. The service will help to
address the many challenges and problems associated
with the settlement process. This service is free
and can accessed from anywhere in New Zealand.
